I customarily show ten images each year in my end of the year post, but I leave you with one extra photograph this year of a peaceful sunset on a farm.

I wish for all of you peace, blessings and harmony always!

“2015 Corvette Stingray Z06”

For all you Corvette lovers out there…….The cool new 2015 Corvette Stingray Z06 Supercar! Straight from the 2014 Detroit NAIAS.

This is the only supercar that delivers over 600 horsepower and has a choice of either a 7 speed manual, or an all new track certified 8 speed paddle-shift automatic transmission! To me, that’s pretty cool!

It is powered by an LT4 supercharged 6.2 aluminum V8 engine which delivers at least 625 horsepower with 635 lb-ft of torque!

This car is designed for downforce. Nearly every exterior change on the 2015 Z06 serves a functional purpose from the wider flare fenders, wider tires and wheels to the larger vents to provide more cooling air to the engine!

Oh, and something I really love is the removable carbon-fiber roof panel, allowing for an open roof, while enjoying the speed on the road!!

The 2015 Corvette Stingray Z06 has all this and so much more! Enjoy!

“Nissan Juke Nismo”

As promised in my last post, I would bring you more images from the 2014 Detroit NAIAS that happened last month.

The first image is a full color detail, or abstract of the Nissan Juke Nismo. A sporty little high performance car from Nissan. I felt particularly drawn to it for its lines, curves, and beautiful sleek details.

I love doing this type of abstract from automobiles. You’ll find quite a few of my images done in this way. They make such great subjects!!

This image was processed in Lightroom, and a quick bounce into Nik Color Effex Pro before coming back into Lightroom for the final touches.

This next image is of the same car (Nissan Juke Nismo). I processed it first in Lightroom, then in Nik Silver Effex Pro to give it a nice monochrome polish! I usually go with a straight Selenium finish on cars, which is cooler in tone, but this time I decided to go a bit warmer before bringing it back into Lightroom to finish it off.

I hope you enjoy these two images. I might bring you some architectural photography next week, as that happens to be what I’m currently working on! 🙂

“Concept of Infinity”

Well guys, as some of you might have remembered from last year…… It’s auto show time again! The time in January when winter has hit in full, and you need some excitement to brighten your day! The place where I explore lights, camera, and action! The 2014 Detroit NAIAS, where there are halls of flashing lights, displays of shiny new cars, and not to be forgotten, enormous crowds of excited people!

I bring you just one image today. A cool slice of a concept car from Infinity. A bright and shiny orange delight!

This will be the start of a series of automotive images. Some as abstract, some automobile details, and others as full cars. I hope you enjoy the ride! (Pun intended) 😉

“Lights Camera Action”

Well my friends, tonight I thought I’d bring us back to the bright lights, the large crowds, and the full fledged action of the Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS)!

For those of you out there that have a love of all things Corvette, muscle cars, fast cars, luxury sports cars, etc. Well here you have a pretty nice perspective of the awesome 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.

There was a lot of attention that was on this car as in turned around! Cameras were clicking everywhere, lights were coming from all directions, and people were admiring, talking, and going nuts for this brand new Corvette! It made for a pretty wild time!

From this vantage point I think you can get a good idea of both the car itself and the atmosphere surrounding it!!

I hope you enjoyed tonight’s post. If so please feel free to leave me a comment!!

“Curving Light”

In a way I’m backing up a bit in this post. Still in abstract mode, but going auto, as in automobile!! 🙂
Going back to January, and the time of the NAIAS in Detroit! Well as most of you know, at all these auto shows there are a ton of flashing multicolored lights everywhere, boat loads of people, and many other distractions that can make getting the shot you want of a car a bit hard.
I came away with plenty of nice shots, and even some of the SRT Viper, which is the car used in this image. I really loved the bright yellow, and the way the vents on the hood curve, soooo in addition to regular shots, I also got this one as an abstract.
Yes it is bright, shiny, full of light, flashy, and don’t forget, bright yellow….but that’s what it’s all about!! Right!! 🙂
This car is really a totally cool sports car, and truth be told, when I was a child, I always wanted to own a bright yellow Porsche. Hhhmmm, I guess I could settle for the SRT Viper instead!! 😉
How about you? What type of car did you want as a child?

“1903 Ford Model A” 2

As many of you who follow me know. I’ve been working through a mountain of automobile images. I decided to post just one more car image here, then after that it will back to our regularly scheduled programming. No seriously, I’ll get back into more nature images!! I think I’m about Car-d out LOL!! 😉

I did find this car here to be of quite a bit of interest though. A 1903 Ford Model A, in fact the only one still surviving. The details are fantastic, and of course beautifully cared for. Shiny red paint, white tires with red spokes on the wheels. Plus a beautiful brass steering wheel and horn!! Truly a marvel from 110 years ago!!

I hope you enjoy this image, and if you’re a car lover. I have many images of different types of cars and their details on my site. So for now, until the next auto show, or maybe a muscle car show, I think I’ll stick to nature, landscapes, and maybe an abstract here and there!! 😉

“Ford Mustang” mono

Well guys, I went to the Auto show in Detroit recently. Of course the show was totally packed, and pretty much wall to wall people, but I spent the whole day there and got loads of shots.

For some reason this year I was really getting into tail pipes, or exhaust tips. Of course I got shots of all parts of the cars, and of many types of cars also.

Dealing with the lighting at these shows as it flashes and shines on the cars is a real pain. All those bright and flashing lights look great, but not on an image of a car! LOL!!

Anyway, here is the first image that I processed. It’s the exhaust tip of a 2013 Ford Mustang. I wish I could give you more info than that, but I actually don’t know more! My son was messing with the Shelby next to me, and I wasn’t really paying attention to the details of the car I was shooting! 😉
