Some glorious fall color!

Hi all, If it looks like I’ve been away from blogging for a couple of weeks or so, it’s because I was. I’ve been in a transition process and also trying change blog themes, which has been one theme after another! ย Currently I’m trying to figure this one out LOL, so bear with me! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve also been out and around on my usual hunt for early autumn color. I haven’t had to wait long this year at all. The colors are coming out quickly and quite boldly too! Yep, I’m happy!! ๐Ÿ™‚

A few days ago I spent a bit of time under a beautiful Japanese Maple tree all bathed in morning sunlight! What a treat! The colors were really warmed up by the back lighting and the bokeh was delicious!!

In general the Japanese Maple is stunning nearly all year long in my opinion, with such beautifully shaped leaves, and color. Unlike most other maples though, autumn doesn’t bring about much of a change in color in these, but lighting surely can!

You’ll probably be seeing my journey through the fall of 2014 for quite a few posts, but as with every season, it does eventually come to an end, and ….. well you know…..things have to change and so will my subjects.

So for now, enjoy this wonderful early introduction to autumn in Michigan! ๐Ÿ™‚

“Center of Attention”

What says autumn other than fall color change on the trees? Well, of course, the vast array of autumnal beauty at your very feet. A gorgeous carpet of joy!

As I walked through the woods on a very rainy day, I got to enjoy the sheer loveliness of what was beneath my feet! This area was filled with many varieties of Maple trees which created a very colorful bit of eye candy as I walked along.

Since this is such a simple shot, I decided to put the focus on the orange leaf in the center, and on the area directly around it. I used a bit of blur in the rest of the image. Take in the image a bit more by reading the description below.

Imagine standing here. Close your eyes for a minute. Breath in the fresh rain filled air, notice the earthy scent of the wet soil and leaves. Feel the chilly breeze on your skin, and the drizzle of rain as it lays a mist on your hair. Now open your eyes and take in colors. Vibrant yellow, orange, gold and red. Muted browns that have fallen earlier. Enjoy the contrast of colors and the depths of the leaves. Inhale every bit of beauty into your soul and remember this well for beauty like this comes but once a year!

Thank you all for stopping by for a bit of autumn joy! I wish you all a wonderful fall this year and every year!!

-Maple and Pine-

Let sunlight shine upon you bright,
May brilliant days give you respite.

Listen to the rustling leaves,
Among the Pine and Maple trees.

Bright and green they glisten so,
How we wish they dare not go.

Summer days now halfway through,
With fond memories they stay with you.

Keep this scene within your mind,
When sun filled days are left behind.

“Autumn on Campus”

There’s something so inviting and beautiful when you think about school, or college campuses during autumn’s colorful foliage season!
This image is no exception. It was taken a couple of months ago at the very end of peak color. The combination of the trees and their foliage, the pathways, lamp posts, and buildings seemed to all just flow together into one lovely autumn image! Enjoy! ๐Ÿ™‚

“Unspoken”

"Unspoken"
Wonderful back lit woodlands of Birch and Maples!

The wonderful late afternoon sunlight comes strongly from behind the trees illuminating the gold and yellow highlights in the background.
The oranges and greens of the maple leaves, as well as the colors of the birch bark become deepened. All happening in silence. All simply; unspoken beauty!
